Draft for review — not yet in effect.
Creative and Editor terms
Read how assignments, pay and changes work today. Legal and business questions below must be resolved before these terms can be agreed to.
Independent contractor status
[LAWYER] Confirm the contracting entity, contractor classification and applicable local requirements for Creatives and Editors. This draft does not establish anyone's legal employment status.
Offers and assignments
A Creative's offer shows the job and proposed pay. You can accept or decline. When an expiry is set, respond before the displayed expiry; an accepted job closes the competing offers. Editors receive assignments through the desk.
[CONFIRM: offer expiry is optional in the current implementation. Agree the recruiting policy, Editor assignment acceptance and how acceptance of these terms will be recorded before launch.]
Pay and weekly payouts
Pay is set on each assignment, not by a general rate promised here. Completed Creative and Editor assignments accrue when the job has been delivered and the client's payment has been collected. A later client refund does not automatically take earned pay back.
Eligible pending earnings recorded before Monday 12:00 AM Eastern time are sent through Stripe Express when the payout account can be paid and collected funds are available. Set up your payout account whether you work as a Creative or an Editor. A refused transfer stays pending. A transfer is not a guarantee that money has reached your bank.
[CONFIRM: the cutoff currently uses the payout record's creation time, not the completion time of the work. Work first accrued after the cutoff can wait another week. Confirm the public weekly-pay promise, fees, taxes, dispute handling and failed-transfer process.]
Cancellations and reschedules
The client can usually cancel free until 24 hours before the shoot. Inside that window the client fee is 50% of the booking price; once the Creative is on the way or on site it is 100%. Unpaid bookings and a missed start with nobody dispatched have separate free-cancellation rules. These client fees are not a promise of the same percentage as worker pay.
Services with a deposit (events, brand and personal work) cost the client the deposit when cancelled more than 24 hours out, an hour or more after booking. For any cancellation that carries a client fee, deposit or late, the Creative who had accepted the job has a pending payout capped at the lesser of their agreed pay and the client cancellation fee. No accepted Creative means no Creative cancellation payout. The current code does not promise an Editor cancellation payout.
A permitted reschedule at least 24 hours before the shoot releases the current Creative assignment and puts the job back into casting. It is withdrawn, not counted as the Creative dropping the job. Inside the window, the client must cancel and make a new booking instead.
[CONFIRM: cancellation payout settlement, refund exceptions and any Editor cancellation policy.]
Dropping a job
An accepted Creative can drop the job before setting off. It returns to casting and the dropped assignment counts in reliability reporting. Once you are on the way, contact the studio instead. A client reschedule is a release, not a drop.
[CONFIRM: consequences of repeated drops and the Editor withdrawal process. This draft does not invent a penalty or charge.]
Conduct and client privacy
Use property access only for the accepted job. Never share access codes or retain them outside Captr. Keep client information and job media confidential; do not put codes or contact details in ordinary notes or media. Editors receive editing work, not property-access instructions.
[LAWYER] Confirm consent, safety, incident reporting, subcontracting and confidentiality obligations. Access controls cannot guarantee that uploaded media contains no identifying information.
Photo ownership and licence
[LAWYER] Confirm ownership, assignment or licence terms, client usage rights, releases and portfolio permission. No portfolio or reuse right is granted by this draft.
Ending the arrangement and deleting your account
Contact the studio to resolve outstanding work and earnings before ending the arrangement. Account deletion is proposed separately and is not yet integrated in this snapshot.
[CONFIRM: termination, notice, disputes, deletion availability and records that must be retained. Do not promise immediate deletion or forfeiture of unpaid earnings.]
